What we will provide to volunteers
🤝 Extra supportAbout Service Dogs UK
We are the only ADI accredited PTSD assistance dog charity in the UK and we are also members of Assistance Dogs UK so you can be confident that our standards are at the highest level.
The dogs we use are carefully selected from rescue to help the Veterans. Once a dog has been selected, a Veteran gets partnered with their dog and the Veteran will get taught how to train their dogs, look after them, become a responsible guardian and much more – all under the guidance of professional dog trainers. It takes between 9-12 months of training for the Assistance Dog Partnership to graduate and achieve the required ADI accredited standards.
This a journey the partnership will take together for their mutual benefit.
