Summary

Marketing & Media Officer -An exciting opportunity for a person with Marketing/Media experience to help us take Dementia Carers Respite to the next level.

Detailed description

What will you be doing?

In this exciting senior role, you will be working with trustees and the Chairman, reporting to the Chairman. Responsibilities include:

  • Work with Trustees to develop marketing & PR strategies to achieve objectives
  • Drafting marketing materials such as flyers, press releases and posters
  • Creating and posting blog posts and articles on the company’s website and social media pages
  • Preparing coherent marketing campaign reports using data analysis tools
  • Capitalising on good local radio relationships and develop links with TV operators
  • The role will be supported by the Charity’s event management, trustees and the chairman to ensure success

What are we looking for?

Experience in consumer & corporate marketing is important but more critical is having someone that is creative, hands on with a get up and go attitude and a team player.

·       They need to be self-motivated, very well organised

·       They need to have a strong focus and be result orientated

·       They need to plan and meet deadlines

·       They need to have very good written and verbal persuasive skills

·       They need to be able to communicate with passion and credibility

What difference will you make?

In this most critical of roles, you will be creating and implementing a successful multifaceted campaigns programme, raising the Charity’s image in the public domain but also with donors and stakeholders.

Also raise public and corporate awareness of the plight of Dementia Family Carers, who work 24/7 looking after their loved ones without any help. Most are, permanently mentally and physically exhausted with a terrible mix of guilt for not being able to do more and bereavement for virtual loss of a loved one.

Achieving objectives allow us to expand, deepen and widen our audience base, increase our level of respite support we can give. You will be making a huge difference to the lives of many family carers and their families.

The holistic approach to the respite we give allows the family carer to come back with an amelioration of mental and physical wellbeing.  This leads to better care benefitting their loved one, reducing incidents caused by pressure, stress, loneliness and isolation preventing need for hospital and/or GP care. Respite is a small word with huge benefits.

About Dementia Carers Respite

The purpose of the charity is to preserve and protect the health of those caring for people living with dementia within the family at home (who do not qualify for NHS support and do not have sufficient resources for private carers services) by funding and offering a respite service through the provision of specialist professional carers.
