You are passionate about plant growing, biodiversity, fostering a sense of community, and sowing the seeds of positive change!

Detailed description

Are you passionate about plant growing, biodiversity, fostering a sense of community, and sowing the seeds of positive change?

If so, we invite you to become a part of our Community nurseries team! As a Community Plant Nursery Volunteer with Chiltern Rangers you'll be an essential part of our mission to nurture and propagate Trees and Wildflowers that will contribute to a greener, more sustainable environment and healthier communities.

What we do:

Our new Tree and Wildflower nurseries aim to produce plants grown from locally sourced seeds, which will be planted out across the Chilterns, boosting biodiversity and restoring habitats. The nurseries are an accessible place for all to volunteer.

We have various roles and tasks suitable for volunteers of all skill levels. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or a complete novice, we welcome your enthusiasm and dedication. You can:

Plant and care for our diverse range of trees and flowers

Assist with nursery maintenance, like weeding, watering, and composting.

Share your plant-growing knowledge with fellow volunteers and the community.

Assist with building and DIY tasks around the garden

Our tree nursery is based in Winchmore Hill and our wildflower nursery is based on Hammersley Lane.

About Chiltern Rangers

Here at Chiltern Rangers, our mission is to enhance the Chilterns’ habitats through conservation, education and community engagement.

We work with local communities to provide habitat management in Buckinghamshire and the Chilterns. You will find us in the woodlands, chalk grasslands, commons, ponds and chalk streams. We also manage 13 nature reserves for Buckinghamshire Council.

Our work can only be achieved with the help of our volunteers – people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds, plus community organisations, charities, social enterprises, schools & colleges. We would love you to be part of our team.
