We are looking for volunteers to join our friendly team that looks after the museum of Buckingham's history in the iconic 18th century jail in the town centre.Detailed description
We are looking for local - retired or part time - volunteers that are interested in supporting Buckingham Old Gaol Museum and local heritage. There are a number of roles that you could help with:
Visitor Welcome (Greeting visitors, selling tickets and merchandising in the shop, explaining how to tour the museum and what to look out for. Shifts are 10:00-13:10 and 12:50 to 16:00)
Caretaking (for evening events)
Book Keeping
Cabinet cleaning
Environmental monitoring
Cataloguing / MODES
Organising maintenance
Grant applications
Business development
Fundraising
Social media
Publicity & Promotion
We hope that some of our volunteers would eventually become trustees and help with the museum management.
It is entirely voluntary, so there are no payments or reimbursements, but we hope that you would find the volunteering stimulating, enjoy socializing with the rest of the team and you would have free entry to the museum, training twice a year, 10% discount in the museum shop and a yearly social evening.
